We could not wait to get back to our room upstairs...
Thankfully we didn't have the same outcome as this... :-))):

ISLAND OF THE GODS
Dear lovers,
I am back to London again, after spending two weeks at Bali and then a month in Saint-Petersburg... - It feels almost like spring here in London - in comparison to -25... :-)
Meeting 2009 in New Delhi, 2010 I've met on the beaches of Bali--it's a fascinating and outstanding "relax and unwind" destination. Getting there (13.5 hours flight to Singapore, stopover and then 2.5 hours to the island) is not easy, but better by flying business class on Singapore airlines and staying in Singapore's historic Raffles (regal edifice, a real institution)...
If not poss to stay there, go and check a Singapore Sling at Raffle's bar (where it was origionally created). And don't be put off by the "strict" culture stereotype: people in Singapore really know how to have fun.
Bali is MY place under the sun: had been there before and no doubt will return. Bali has it all: its prominence as a destination is huge. Ask experienced travellers what Bali means to them and you'll get as many answers as there are flowers on a frangipani tree.
The tiny tapestry of colours, textures, smells and hedonistic pleasures is a metaphor for Bali itself.
Enjoying beautiful beaches and unbeatable location of Oberoi in upscale Seminyak; joining the beautiful crowd at next door Ku De Ta; having leisury breakfast at La Luciolla. Having a dinner at The Living Room (if you are lucky to get reservation). Epic clubbing at Kuta or Double Six.
Then on to the arty heart of Bali, Ubud is an experience on its own: hiding away at Amandari (which was the choice of Mike Jagger's wedding ceremony); spoiling myself at Nur Salon (the most authentic spa on the island--had no choice but to pleasure myself in the big, beautiful rose petal bath...); exploring Neka art gallery, enchanting temple ceremonies and fininshing day at the poshest Mosaic.
As well enjoyed 40 km mountain bicycle tour all around the island; trecking through sweeping rice-paddies; misty hiking for few hours to meet sunrise and have the breakfast on volcano (literally--the volcano's heat cooked the eggs).
Check my tan which was not washed off yet even by snow swirl in Petersburg...,
your Elena.

Wish the flowers were bigger at Raffles :-)

What to do with this Ubud guy in my room... ;-) :-)

I am back...
Dear all, it has been so long since I updated my blog, sorry--have been away from London quite a bit... but the good news: New Pics!!! check them out; any favorites??
Well, guess, in my usual manner, I was here and there-- watching annual migration from Masai Maira to Serengetti-one of nature's most awe-inspiring experiences, fishing on dhow at Lamu island and being carried away by the charm of distinct swahili culture; partying really hard at Blue Marlin and Pacha on my birthday at Ibiza; once again exploring Gaudi at Barcelona, dancing flamengo at Seville, playing tennis at Marbella; breakfasting with Caviar&Champagne (their nicknames--you know who you are...) at Saint-Petersburg and Kiev, wishing (for you?) on Charles bridge in Prague; attending private frivolous parties at Paris (any guesses at venue?); South Beach people-watching; chilling in Amsterdam...
I also got new hobbies, such as playing tennis in Hyde Park (my flirty tennis skirts collection is now vast) or taking flamenco classes (what a rousing mix of fire, fury, pride and passion).
I am in London till Christmas, sparkling from all my new adventures, and can not wait to share my energy with you... ;-) :-).
Leo ni leo ni leo (Today is today is today by swahili proverb ;-) )
When contacting me, please, consider that the most efficient way is by e-mail (always answering promptly) and at least one day notice is much appretiated...
Your Elena.

Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir? (not sure why, but this song is on my mind...)
I've recently returned from Paris... once again... ;-) :-)
Following almost the same lucky routine: catch 10:23 morning train (someone who reads my blog knows exactly what it means ;-) :-) ), avoid tourist crowds, taxi line (sneaky catch it around the corner)... to the love nest proximate to Arc de Triumph... with a beautiful secret garden view... ;-)
There is no getting away from romance in Paris... to inspire the heart...
Is Rodin's kiss out-kissable?
Or you can watch endlessly the Eiffel Tower while dining at Chez Francois... The Eiffel Tower at night - the city's ultimate romantic view. And how many types of Oysters can you try in the same day? Or meal? And, well, it's from here, a short walk to...Crazy Horse!
This time our visit to Crazy Horse was more memorable than ever - as herself Dita Von Teese, alluring Queen of Burlesque was teasing and stripping... What an inspiration for a girl like me...
I love playing the part of the damsel in distress...."
"Basically, I'm the girl that your mother warned you about".
Or scene watching at La Coupole? ;-)
Or "sweet nothings" to be whispered across a candlelit table? ...
And yes... I've been in Les Chandelles... once again... very naughty.....
And back by Eurostar (Premier lounge--champagne a must); I was smiling to my naughty French secrets... and listening to French songs on my iPod (by Joe Dassin and Patricia Kaas are among them) and rereading Moveable Feast:
"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast".
Following Hemingway path, I've been in his "watering holes" at Havana, Key West and Paris, with more to follow...I know I will be back again and again to Paris, as it is one of my favo(u)rite playgrounds...
French kisses from your Elena.
